We are always looking for talented treble voices and currently have capacity to grow our choir.
Why sing with us?
We can offer you the chance to sing a varied and distinctive repertoire. Our concerts are often themed, and the works we perform often have diverse origins.
You will learn about musical history, traditions and genres. You will develop your talents and vocal artistry through rehearsals and the adventurous, sometimes challenging, bodies of work we tackle.
But it's not just about the singing. You'll find a community of brilliant, big-hearted and diverse people from every walk of life. Rehearsals are genuinely fun and we build in a snack break for catching up and connecting.
Who are we looking for?
Amateur and professional treble singers who are passionate about singing, have a musical background and are looking for a new outlet for their talents.
People join with recent experience or past experience, some have taken lessons, other have not. Some teach music, some have degrees in music! But many of us have not had a musical outlet since our school days, but we come with a desire to pick up where we left off and develop your musicianship.
What am I committing to?
We ask that you commit to one rehearsal per week, with additional practice in your own time, in preparation for three concerts per season.
Our season runs during the school year, with rehearsals for our December concert beginning in September, and an end of season garden party after our last concert, which is usually in June.
Rehearsals:
When: Tuesday evenings from 7:00-9:00pm
Where: St Titus Anglican Church in Vancouver (680 West 49th Ave, Vancouver, V5Z 2S4)
Getting there: The church has a large parking lot, with additional street parking; it is near Langara-49th Canada Line station and is served by the 49 bus. Some of us bike!
Concerts:
We have around three concerts per season. We always offer a concert around the holidays in December. Other concerts come about through a musical collaboration opportunity or are conceived by our Artistic Director, Kevin Zakresky, who is always pushing us to explore lesser known works along a cultural or historical theme, often challenging us with his selections.
